Small Unit Training AAR – 1 June 2013

Georgia Force on Force held its first training session at the Team Airsoft field in Dawsonville this past Saturday.

Attendees were instructed on a variety of topics, including rifle carry positions, efficient reloading techniques, and movement fundamentals. Our instructors had a wide variety of both civilian and military experience on which to draw, and our students were a mixed group of ages, firearms and airsoft experience levels, and backgrounds.

Once students were aligned on the basics, the teams received training in small-unit tactical essentials, including patrolling basics, reacting to contact, assaulting through the objective using fire and movement, and breaking contact.

These tactical elements were then utilized in two scenarios – the first being a rescue attempt of a downed pilot (thanks to Team Airsoft for having an aircraft fuselage in our training area!), and the second being a force-on-force patrol versus ambush small-unit encounter.

All in all, everyone learned a lot to be practiced and applied in future exercises, and we each look forward to future classes from Georgia Force on Force.

    Hello folks,
It would certainly be an honor to attend one of your courses.
God willing, in the future, it will happen.
May I recommend a special endorsement to the curriculum?
I suggest a scenario where your students are exposed to all kinds of destitute and wounded, needy, begging, pleading, cajoling, crying, screaming , and desperate actors that pester the troops for handouts and help but the minute they get help they turn into vipers and try to bite, assault, and disable the soldiers?
That would be a reality check like no other.
Few are able to deal with their brothers, sisters, neighbors, friends, that never prepared
and are now at the verge of death without YOUR HELP AND NEEDING ALL YOUR FAMILIES RESOURCES.
How do you deal with the guilt and shame?
You and your family made sacrifices while they went on vacations and pissed away
their money and now they try to make you feel bad for having something?
This will happen to the prepared and it could disable the finest soldier emotionally
and rattle them badly, potentially taking them out of action for a while.

I believe times are coming when every aspect of readiness will be tested.

    1. Eat the elephant one bite at a time. We have to deal with the basics and build up to that kind of run.
